Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited is a
leading global pharmaceutical company, research based and the largest
pharmaceutical company in Japan, with marketing operations in around 90
countries worldwide.
Takeda Pharmaceutical was founded by Chobei Takeda
in 1781, with one small shop selling traditional Japanese and Chinese
medicines. These were the humble biginnings of the present day Company. It was
over 100 years later that the Company opened it's own pharmaceutical
manufacturing factory in 1895. Early Takeda Pharmaceutical products included
bismuth subgallate and quinine hydrochloride.
