Pfizer Global Pharmaceuticals (PGP) is the key driver behind Pfizer's outstanding performance. PGP brings the prescription medicines of our industry - leading research pipeline to patients and physicians through an organisation of dedicated professionals.

Pfizer now ranks as the largest supplier of medicines to the NHS. Through the pharmaceutical division it markets a wide range of prescription-only medicines which bring relief from suffering in a variety of diseases including infections, arthritis, depression, hypertension and other heart disorders, as well as certain types of cancer.

The division employs about 1,700 people and consists of all the commercial departments responsible for supporting the business in the UK and Eire. These include the Medical, Marketing, Finance and Strategic Development departments. These support the research and development programs, collaborating on global strategies for new products from the early stages of development and throughout a product's entire life cycle.

A critical component of PGP is the Pfizer sales force, whose responsibility it is to market a wide range of prescription only medicines to the NHS. Pfizer sales teams come from a variety of educational backgrounds and are widely regarded as the best in our industry.

The sales force operate from four regional offices that have been established in order to align activities with differing parties and needs of the NHS across the country.
