market.

researching both medicines and vaccines for the World Health
Organizations three priority diseases. These are HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis
and malaria, and GlaxoSmithKline has developed some of the leading global
medicines in all of these fields.
GlaxoSmithKline is a research-based
pharmaceutical company, employing 100,000 people in 100 countries. Around
15,000 GlaxoSmithKline employees work within the company's research teams, with
a focus on the discovery of new pharmaceuticals. GlaxoSmithKline supplies one
quarter of the world's vaccines.
